Welcome!
By O)FaRTy1billion
aka FaRTy[MM]
You are asked to just mess around as much as you can in BinEdit2 abusing it in every possible way and see if you can find any errors, bugs, crashes, or any other irregular happenings and to report what you did to cause them. I havn't tested every little detail since last beta, so if you find anything be sure to tell me.
Also you can give me suggestions or features you would like added (to be honest, I am not likely to add them... but if it is simple enough, I might. :P)
If you are to actually give me a report, you will be included in the credits as a beta tester! (What joy that will be!)
Note: If I forgot to add your name somewhere (if you have already helped with something), just poke me and I'll fix it.
To Be Added & Your Input
(Some of these may have already been added. I'm being lazy and not going through them.)
- When Saving As an MPQ, prompt for filename rather than just use the current filename?
- I don't think saving to an MPQ sets locale ID... So yeah, if anyone wants that you can look into it.
- Make labels, tooltips, etc. external files for easy updating? I did this with TileEdit that I am working on, should I also do it here?
- An Icon, Gimmeh ideas. Typical SC icon is dull and overused.
- Actual readme. How should it be set up? (This is the style I have layed out for it... however I plan on fixing link colors. Ew.)
- Descriptive Tool-tips. I have tooltips already, but do they suffice in telling what the object does/are accurate?
- Bottom right pixel bug. Characters with a pixel on the very bottom right have it cut off... It isn't all that noticeable, but should I try further to fix it?
- Anything more to the preview? It will never be 100%, but it is close.
- Any specific hotkeys?
- MOAR?
Fixed Since Last Beta
- Fixed a bug where changing an SMK label would not change the dropdown menu labels.
- Added command-line opening of *.bin files (not MPQs.)
- Opening files now updates the preview.
