Older Satyr Saturday Replays (Warcraft 3 Replays)
The following replays are older Warcraft 3 replays that require downgrading to older versions of Warcraft 3 to play them. It is also to be noted that it will probably require 1 GB of space for everything.
The latest batch covers weeks 205 to 224 and only spawns v1.23. Another covers weeks 167 to 204 and only spawns v1.22.
The current batch covers weeks 1 to 166 and spawn over 4 major Warcraft 3 versions althought only v1.20 and v1.21 replays are recommanded if you want to minimize verison downgrading and potencial dual or more installations of Warcraft 3 to watch them.
Since the Satyr Saturday has existed for over 224 weeks (with over 2200 replays!), here's the batch files of the replays based on the Warcraft 3's version.
Satyr Saturday replays Weeks 205 to 224 (45 MB) (Only compatible with the latest minor version of TFT 1.23)
Satyr Saturday replays Weeks 167 to 204 (56 MB) (Only compatible with the latest minor version of TFT 1.22)
Satyr Saturday replays Weeks 92 to 166 (213 MB) (Only compatible with the latest minor version of TFT 1.21)
Satyr Saturday replays Weeks 23 to 91 (209 MB) (Only compatible with latest minor version of TFT 1.20)
Satyr Saturday replays Week 22 (2 MB) (Only compatible with the latest minor version of TFT 1.19)
Satyr Saturday replays Weeks 1 to 21 (30 MB) (Only compatible with the latest minor version of TFT 1.18)
Many of our games were played on custom maps and due to Warcraft III's replay system, the TFT replays are NOT independant from the custom map (as opposed to Brood War). In addition, the replays require the concerned map to have the same relative path when it was loaded.
Thus there is the need to include large map packs including the custom maps used during the Satyr Saturday event.
To ensure SS replays played on custom maps can be watched, you need to follow these steps :
Steps for replays v1.23 pack ONLY (SS Weeks 205 to 224)
5 ) download the batch of maps : Download Maps Batch (Weeks 205 to 224 only) (94 MB)
6 ) extract the batch's contents in the folder "download" of your wc3 maps folder
Steps for replays v1.22 pack ONLY (SS Weeks 167 to 204)
1 ) download the first batch of maps : Maps Batch #1 (Weeks 167 to 204 only) (1 MB)
2 ) create a folder called "Good maps" in the maps root folder of your Warcraft 3 directory.
3 ) extract the first batch's contents in the folder "Good maps" of your wc3 maps folder
4 ) ALSO extract the first batch's contents in the folder "download" of your wc3 maps folder
5 ) download the second batch of maps : Maps Batch #2 (Weeks 167 to 204 only) (135 MB)
6 ) extract the second batch's contents in the folder "download" of your wc3 maps folder
Steps for replays v1.21 and older pack (SS Weeks 1 to 166)
Note : You will need approximately 696 Mb of free space on the partition that contains your Warcraft 3 installation for the following map downloads and copies of the first batch.
1 ) download the first batch of maps : Maps Batch #1 (Weeks 1 to 166 only) (125 MB)
5 ) download the second batch of maps : Maps Batch #2 (Weeks 1 to 166 only) (446 MB)
6 ) extract the second batch's contents in the folder "download" of your wc3 maps folder
This will ensure you can play the vast majority of the Satyr Saturday replays related to custom maps.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR 1.20E AND 1.21 REPLAYS :
For the following, the same logic applies for a different version.
If you want to benefit from watching the majority of the old replays without using any special program to downgrade your version, here's the following steps :
Part 1 : A TFT v1.20e copy
1 ) Uninstall TFT if your version is 1.22 or later (if it's somehow still 1.20e, skip to #3)
2 ) Reinstall war3/TFT and update with this patch (if your TFT language is not English, check for a 1.20e patch of your language here instead.)
3) Make a copy of your TFT folder (to dual 1.20e and the latest version of TFT) with a copy name such as "Warcraft III v1.20e"
Part 2 : A TFT v1.21 copy
4) Update with this patch (if your TFT language is not English, check for a 1.21 patch of your language here instead.
5) Make a copy of your TFT folder (to have a 1.20e copy, 1.21 copy and your main currently at 1.21) with a copy name such as "Warcraft III v1.21"
Part 3 : Updating your real TFT version to the latest version
6) Update your real TFT copy to the latest version (presumably 1.22) or by connecting to the Battle.net server
Thus, you will just have to rename your real TFT folder copy to some name and then rename either your 1.20e TFT or your 1.21 TFT to the same installation folder name to launch 1.20e TFT. Rename both renamed ones back to their former names to play your lastest version. Note that it might be possible to directly play the copied versions without renaming the folders but I didn't seriously try it.
