Bonus Mission: Nightshade

This special bonus mission hidden within the Mekani conversion is available by finding the Succubus 'Black Jade' and killing her. Finding her, however, will be a monumental task, and there will be others who may help point you in the right direction.

This New Avalon-esque mission details the travels of the Madoshi Shizuka and Deathclaw as they find themselves in the demon world threatened by the ancient evil lurking in the void between her world and the demon world. Why can't they pick someone more qualified for the job...? Special Thanks to di for creating the New Avalon series and inspiring this scenario.

You are free to look at the triggers and base your own maps around them, so long as you don't outright steal that, the map, or anything else in the map. Please give props to di and Razorclaw X if you do base your own map off this set.

In order to attain the mission normally, all you have to do is run the Protoss Campaign mission "The Battle of Braxis," and kill the Succubus standing under the sign at the left side of the map, given in the minimap picture above.

The Seven Stars

Shizuka Minazuki
The Star that Seeks the Light in the Darkness
Profession: Demon Hunter; summoner; priestess of Genbu, the god of water
Unit: Unique
Weapon: Twin Viper Swords, Sonic Cutter
Allegience: Independant
A demon hunter of ill repute among both humans and demons, Shizuka serves no one but herself. She is possessed by the accursed undead dragon, Deathclaw, after subduing his soul-eating rampage. Although the two bicker often they prove to be a capable fighting team. Her selfishness is only surpassed by her compassion, a trait which Shizuka refuses to admit exists.

Quote: (Shizuka) "Nobody cares if I live or die. Nobody cares! So why should I care about you? I do it because someone's gotta care about somebody, dammit."
Quote: (Deathclaw) "If I wasn't here, you wouldn't have lasted half as long as you have."

Yamata no Orochi
The Star which Creates the Darkness
Profession: Avatar of the god of darkness
Unit: Defiler
Weapon: Acid Spray
Allegience: Orochi Clan
Long ago the eight-headed Orochi terrorized the world until the rival god Susano-O defeated it and banished it to the gods' plane. Unable to extend its influence into the human plane any longer this dark god turned to make the gods' world his, and is preparing to assault the forces of light in their sky castles one day. The forces of Orochi are one of the most powerful demon factions in existance.

Quote: "Angels and archons are arrogant and aloof to the affairs of demons until whatever threatens us becomes strong enough to threaten them in their high perches. THEN they care."

Tengu Coral
The Star that Serves the People of Darkness
Profession: Freelance warrior
Unit: Gunner
Weapon: Autocrossbow
Allegience: Freelance
Although the factions of the gods' plane are large and rigid in their regimes there are those who exist that hire themselves out to whoever is willing to pay them to fight. Tengu Coral, of the Tengu race, sells his services to the Kolvar Salamanders, serving under the Salamander noble Lord Kolvar.

Quote: "Demons are too bent on killing each other over the smallest things... no wonder the humans and angels think we're evil. They're so damn stupid, judging us all like that; I hope they choke on their delusional fantasies about themselves and make room in this universe for the realists."

Fangskin
The Star of the Darkness in the Sky
Profession: Unholy Warrior of Seiryu, the god of wind
Unit: Salamander
Weapon: Double Edge, Vacuum Slash
Allegience: Seiryu
Fangskin serves as a protector of the villages surrounding the Seiryu Shrine, and the shrine proper. His discipline taught him the ability to use the vacuum slash with his swords, an ability that is the mark of a true warrior.

Quote: "They may be weaker than you, but that's not a good reason to pick on 'em."

Spike
The Star of the Darkness within the Earth
Profession: Unholy Warrior of Byakko, the god of earth
Unit: Lurker
Weapon: Subterranean Spines
Allegience: Byakko
Among the demons this creature is charged with protecting the Byakko Shrine from harm. With his discipline the power of earth is available to him, allowing him mastery of the subterranean spines in order to surprise would-be opponents.

Quote: "Down here on the earth, you know what matters. Up there in the clouds, you're full of it."

Shokla
The Star from Beyond the Darkness
Profession: Mysterious Psionic entity
Unit: Acolyte
Weapon: Psionic Blast
Allegience: Unknown
Not much is known of this mute creature; no one knows from which clan Shokla hails. Although silent most of the time Shokla has proven himself a capable mystical warrior, one which his fellows take for granted.

Quote: "If only they knew what I know... then civilization would be thrown upside-down. They aren't ready to know what I know...."

Cinder
The Star Holding the Flame of Darkness
Profession: Retainer; Guardian of Suzaku, the god of fire
Unit: Blademaster
Weapon: Serpent Sword
Allegience: Kolvar Salamanders
Lord Kolvar's personal retainer and finest warrior, the one the humans know as 'Cinder' is truly a loyal servant rather than the demonic malevolence he is known for. With the power of Suzaku at his beck and call the fiery salamander can move between the gods' plane and the humans' plane at will using one of the four powers that links the two worlds together. As the living embodiment of Suzaku in either world Cinder's fire ability is unimaginable.

Quote: "They think our world is Hell; the human world is truly Hell. The people living in it only have yet to realize it; that's what makes it such a good Hell."
