The Overmind

Psionic entity
The Overmind is a brain-like entity. It was created by the Xel'Naga on the Zerg homeworld of Zerus to bring order to the Zerg. At first it was only a semi-sentient entity created from the instincts and collective sentience of the Zerg, but it quickly evolved into an intelligent leader, obsessed with the assimilation of other species into itself, and the supremacy of the Swarm.
 
Cerebrate Grasque

Leader of the Skurnir Brood
The Cerebrate known as Grasque was created to lead the Skurnir Brood – a small Brood dedicated to safeguarding the Overmind’s newest creations. Not much is known about Grasque’s history or that of his Brood, but it is certain that Grasque was not among the Cerebrates that descended upon the surface of Aiur during the Great Invasion.
 

Grathax

Enforcer

The Ultralisk Grathax was part of special garde of Ultralisks serving as stormtroopers. Sometimes referred to as ‘the Lieutenant’, this warrior is believed to have led his army to victory many times in the past. Unlike most Ultralisks, Grathax is capable of telepathy, though only to a certain extent.

It is said that unlike most Zerg that are alive today, Grathax was born on Zerus and has seen firsthand the evolutions of the Swarm. His loyalty to his brethren is eternal, but his freedom of mind is what guides him.
 

Vail Sterling
Age 28
Formerly Lieutenant of the Terran Confederacy
(Missing in action)

Vail Sterling was born on the Terran world of Argus IV, and was quickly assimilated into the Ghost Program. A trained Ghost, Sterling made it to Lieutenant in only a few years of service and was in charge of numerous specops missions. A son of ambassador Julius Sterling, Vail was also a highly regarded citizen of Argus. When the Zerg invaded his homeworld, he was quick to lead his squad in what was to be the first wave of resistance. He is believed to have been killed in battle.
