The Gallantry Design Journal
Introduction: About six years ago or so, I was introduced to an anime series called, "Space Battleship Yamato." Since that time, I have always been inspired by the dramatic tale of a space faring crew and the challenges they would face. The Gallantry is my tale of that very ship, told from the StarCraft engine, in the StarCraft universe, while being able to set it's own rules.
Just what is The Gallantry though? The Gallantry is a space faring ship, held in the greatest traditions of naval-like vessels traveling through space, starting in 1974 by Space Battleship Yamato, and among other series, having a naval like vessel travel through space. The Gallantry is moreso as well, the story of a ship and her crew. There are lessons to be learned from their travels, and profound messages that are sent from the characters. Using StarCraft and moreso, the Brood War expansion pack, we will take you on an entertaining journey where you will have an opportunity to participate in some very unique gameplay experiences, as well as partake in an epic story.
